MEET OUR FOUNDER
Oge Nwabunike, FOUNDER
Meet the Founder
I am a Nurse, humanitarian, and advocate for the empowerment of girls and women through education, personal development, and community health.
Born on October 11th — the International Day of the Girl Child — my life has been guided by a deep commitment to equity, dignity, and human development. This foundation of purpose continues to shape my work in creating sustainable pathways for vulnerable girls and women to thrive.
As the Founder of Clarehil Literacy Development Foundation, I provide strategic leadership for initiatives focused on education, health awareness, skills development, and capacity building for women and girls in underserved communities.
Our core interventions include:
• Personal development and confidence building
• Social awareness and life skills education
• Vocational training and entrepreneurship development
• Health, hygiene, and reproductive health education
• Mentorship and structured empowerment support
Through these programs, we support beneficiaries to build confidence, develop practical skills, and transition into self-reliant and purpose-driven individuals.
I remain committed to fostering safe, inclusive, and empowering environments where women and girls are equipped not only with knowledge, but with the capacity to lead, contribute, and transform their communities.
I welcome strategic partnerships with NGOs, development agencies, academic institutions, and impact-driven organizations to scale sustainable community development initiatives.
Founder’s Story
My early life was shaped by exposure to socioeconomic inequality within a diverse community that included middle-income, low-income, and underserved populations. I witnessed firsthand the effects of poverty, neglect, and limited access to education and healthcare — conditions that often resulted in lost potential and unfulfilled futures.
These experiences cultivated a strong sense of social responsibility and a lifelong commitment to community impact.
Long before establishing an organization, I was actively involved in supporting vulnerable children, orphans, and disadvantaged individuals by contributing to their educational and personal development in any capacity available to me.
Encouraged by peers and colleagues who recognized this consistent commitment, I formally established Clarehil Literacy Development Foundation with the support of a dedicated board of directors.
My professional background in nursing and healthcare further deepened my understanding of the critical link between health, dignity, and opportunity. It reinforced my belief that sustainable development must address both education and well-being in an integrated manner.
Today, Clarehil Literacy Development Foundation operates structured programs designed to empower women and girls with the tools they need to lead independent, productive, and impactful lives. Through a committed team and growing partnerships, the organization continues to expand its reach and deepen its impact across communities in Nigeria.
